At The Hobart Clinic, we take great care to tailor our services to your individual needs.

Which program is best?
Each visit will begin with an assessment by one of our psychiatrists, who works with you to structure a program of treatment and support.
Our doctors will then make a recommendation on the services we can offer you: a residential stay, enrolment in a Day program, or an outpatient appointment with one of our on-site psychiatrists. All of our psychiatrists are Fellows of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
Residential programs
This may include a residential stay in the clinic, which is an accredited hospital staffed by specialist nurses and doctors. Each person has a private single room with ensuite and round-the-clock support and supervision.
Residential stays are usually for two to three weeks, depending on your needs.
Part of the benefit of a residential stay includes helping you settle into regular patterns of eating and sleeping. As well as receiving medical treatment and participating in therapy sessions, a stay helps you to develop calming, healthy routines for yourself.
Our in-house chefs make tasty, nutritious breakfast and hot lunches and dinners every day.
You will have regular appointments with our psychiatrists during your stay, at least twice a week, and be able to attend a program of education and therapy in the clinic that is best suited to your needs.
In addition, you can see visitors when you feel well enough; attend yoga, tai chi, or swimming; have a walk or sit outside in our gardens; relax by reading, watching TV or movies; enjoy some art therapy, or a relaxing massage or foot reflexology treatment.
Day programs
Alternatively, you can enroll in one of our Day programs. These programs focus on recovery and rehabiliation, offering education and therapy with a range of health professionals.
Day programs assist you to better understand your condition, to learn and practise skills that will help and support you in setting goals for moving forward in your life.
The Hobart Clinic’s programs run from one to five days a week. You can attend for as many weeks as needed.
